A friend on LinkedIn recently shared a post from the Founder and CTO at HubSpot, Dharmesh Shah, entitled “Simple Daily Habits of the Delightfully Successful Person.” Below is the ‘Cliff Note’ version and here is the website to find this great article: http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20130701135755-658789-simple-daily-habits-of-the-delightfully-successful
- Walk away from gossip.
- Spend five minutes in another person’s shoes.
- Give one person unexpected praise.
- Do one thing no one else is willing to do.
- Shine the spotlight on one person.
- “Sell” one thing.
- Give one person an unexpected hand.
- Admit one failing.
Why would I include a list of habits that really don’t seem to focus on health (since this is an Integrative Health blog)? Because these actions feed our soul and energize us–as we take the spotlight off ourselves and focus positively on others. Trust me, these are health promoting measures!
Shah includes great examples under each topic, with an underlying theme: “The best way to build your own long-term success is to help other people succeed.” I’ve printed these off to challenge myself—I challenge each of you to do the same…
