How do you handle the stress in your life? It should NOT be a question of ‘Do you handle stress in your life?’—the list of negative health effects of stress is extremely long, with most of today’s health challenges (including heart disease, cancer, & autoimmune diseases) having a direct link to stress.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily ‘busy-ness’ of life. High stress seems ‘normal’ as we just keep pushing forward. Consider this your Friendly Reminder that you (yes, YOU!) can’t afford not to fit stress-relieving measures into your life each day.
Maybe you can’t get an amazing massage (this squirrel is) as often as you’d like–although regular massages can provide great stress relief as well as other positive health benefits. Here are a few other simple stress-relieving measures:
Meditation—Deep-Breathing Exercises—Exercise (workout, brisk walk, swimming…)—Epsom Salts Bath—Yoga/Tai chi—Aromatherapy (certain scents are calming)—Gardening—Listening to your favorite music—Journaling—Watching a funny movie—add your own ideas here—
It may take writing/typing it on your calendar as a reminder to make it happen every day—Whatever it takes—YOU are worth it and so is your health! Paying attention to this part of your health is critical. I find myself reminding clients of this on a regular basis, working with them to find workable ways to build regular stress relief into their lives. http://www.healthunlimited.biz
