How did you do? Did you count the number of passes correctly? More importantly, did you see the gorilla when you were counting? I admit, I totally missed it, getting too caught up in wondering if a bounced pass was the same as a non-bounced pass—and then getting flustered, losing track of my count. My answer was close… 🙂
This is a great example of how we can easily lose sight of the ‘big picture’ of our total health as we get busy with life—and maybe keep up on the exercise routine of 3-4 times a week, but shortchange ourselves on sleep most nights—or make a point of eating a healthy breakfast to start the day, but snack on not-so-healthy choices when our day gets too busy to plan for healthy meals—or make a personal decision to not receive the flu vaccine due to potential risks, yet take no measures to keep our immune system strong—you get the idea.
The ‘big picture’ of total health is one of having great energy throughout the day, maintaining a healthy weight with minimal to no aches or pains, having no activity limitations due to health, and enjoying life. Making this ‘big picture’ a reality in your life includes incorporating quality sleep on a regular basis, a ‘nutrient-dense’ diet with minimal processed foods, basic quality supplements, adequate amounts of clean filtered water, regular aerobic exercise, clean air, and a positive mental attitude into your daily lifestyle.
